What kind of engine management are you running that it didn't stop the motor from over revving with just the clutch letting go? I could understand if you mis-shifted, but not from just the clutch letting go.

Something just doesn't add up with that. Not saying that it didn't happen, just sounds fishy.

Calum RT... I was wondering why it didn't do its job as well. As soon as I get the motor back in order, that's the first thing I'm testing. I had it set to 8k. I'll have to try setting it down to 6k or something and make sure it is functioning.

I have expiranced it and LukaMcCloud bent valves because of it.

Calums limiter only works if the RPM go up gradually. If they go up quicky like a misshift or first gear lights up the tires the limiter will not work!

In Luka's case the car was parked and the car for some reason just ran up the RPMs till he turned it off. Says it went way passed the 8K limiter. Bent alot of valves beacuse of it.

I found out when I first got the car and gased it on first gear. Felt the tires start breaking loose under VVL and the limited didnt stop the motor. Just for safe measure I got on a local expressway and in 2nd gear came slowy to the limiter and it worked. So I was like WTF is the point then?!

Wow.. I'll have to test that theory myself. I wonder if there is something we can change to make it more effective?(Or effective at all in this case lol). I don't think the stock limiter is that bad is it?

I have a calum rt and the rev limiter has always worked great. I have an avenir and it revs faster than the tach in neutral. I've hit the limiter in neutral and in the wet with wheel spin. I'll be sure to watch out.

the factory limiter is too slow to keep from overrevving while in boost. If you break an axle, the clutch lets go, or say 3rd gear shatters, you can overrev easily. Get an MSD box, they help a lot.

It's because everyone sets the limiters incorrectly on the Calum. People set both limiters to be the same, and this is incorrect.

Sucks about your mishap. Build it better than before, now!
