Swap and Labor
Alright so I am contemplating just swapping the motor out of my NX2000 instead of turboing the stock DE because of the mileage. I am thinking that I will go with the W10 Avenir motor from tigerjapanese.com for $690.

I already have:

Brian Crower Stg.2 cams
FMIC and piping
3" Exhaust
Greddy Type S Bov
Nismo FPR
Walbro 255lph
ECU & MAF

I need: (Please add to list if you know what else i need)

3" downpipe
Upgrade clutch
Gauges (boost/oil/water)

Those of you that have had swaps done, what is the cost of typical swap labor?

Also, how long does the swap typically take?

Any help is appreciated.

I paid a grand for my swap, and I did what you did. I pretty much brought them everything on a silver pallet minus the turbo kit. Took about 2 weeks. I'm sure it would have been quicker but it was a 1.6 to JDM DE+T swap! IF i had a garage and good tools I would have done it myself

I didn't really keep count on how much it costed me to do the swap, but with the little things (replaceing bolts, all the fluids, plugs, belts, and odds and ends) it was a desent amount.

As for time, I did the swap myself with the help of a few friends and it took one day to get the old motor out and the new one in. I preped for about a week working on the harness and all and making sure I had everything good to go.

And my swap was not a cake walk, a gtir into a b14 wasn't something that nissan was thinking about when they made that chassis and engine. I would imagine your will go a lot smoother.

Be sure to take her to a tuner once its done, or make sure the shop you have the swap done tunes her. Worse thing you could do is swap it all out then drive off thinking all is good when she could be running stupid lean or something.

i definitly agree that you should look into ALL the little things as they can add up and its always when you are putting it in this or that needs replacing or is completely missing that can all take up ALOT of time tracking the part ect

My build cost me about $5K including all bells and whistles, like wheels/tires, etc.

And honestly, you should just go with a 3" downpipe, not a 2.5".

BIG BALLER!!

I agree, a 2.5" is pretty much a waste of money, when you decide to upgrade to a 3" later. no one will buy the 2.5"

Alright, I will definitely keep that in mind. I might as well buy what the people want, because I will eventually need to sell it so... not a bad idea. Kinda gonna be like I am starting from scratch, but I think it will be well worth it. I am going to go and get a job in the next couple of days, and hopefully in a few months it will be complete.
