here is a pic of the specv 6 speed gear set, it looks very similiar to the b15 unit, look at the size of the diff, it resembles a quife unit. the stack is still in the specv bellhousing in the pic.

here is the 20v bellhousing with the specv gear case on it

and for comparison, here is the b13 gear set, before treatment.

I can't complain about the fwd 50A , I have been running on it on my Altima KA-T with 30psi+ , 26x10 slicks on alot of passes at the track and its still intact and if you put in a lighter car and drive it right it would be pretty hard to break. My Altima is pretty heavy compared to a B13/14 and I'm planning on putting down 800hp+ when I put the car back to together so thats why I had PAR make me these..

Here's a video of my Altima with the stock 50A on 26x10 M/T slicks..

I also tried contacting PPG so they could make these parts for me, but I had very little luck with them. They did not want to deal with me directly, I had to deal with their US distributor, even sent them some factory parts and got nothing out of it. I finally got a quote for the parts I wanted and the price was rediculous so I just gave up on PPG and I contacted Gerard@Par and he gave a great price on these parts and was willing to work with me not like PPG.

A few years back I was going to make a custom set for our boxes, Mike K and I were chatting about this. I met Tim (Director of Marketing and Sales) at PPG when I attended SEMA, not sure if he works there anymore though. I was quoted 5000-6500 dollars on a full custom set of gears 1-4 and 1-5 with billet forks and 12 week turnaround time. I see they have a US distributor now so things could have changed. I am sure they will not just make a set without billet forks since if the stock forks fails it would ruin their reputation.

A car that making 600 whp that is set up right can be killer fast with a properly dialed boost per MPH function. Not only does this function assist with wheel spin and what not it will also help with how the tq is introduced to the drive train.

Also remember it does not take a lot of power to break our trannys.

:sigh: I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about. I mean I've only played around with with this function on a 500whp car, which I'm not saying is anything impressive, because its not at all.

And putting down all the power at once makes a car faster. They only pull boost because they they are tire limited.

people pull boost to ensure the gearbox stays in 1 piece and the car actually makes it further than the 60ft, you can run good 60ft times with quite sensible power figures, certainly nowhere near the figures being discussed by the op in this thread. With bigger turbos its a fine line between bogging, launching well and breaking stuff, anything you can do to get it bang on is going to make you faster.

Dumping everything through the tyres at wot in 1st and 2nd does not a fast car make, you can chuck on bigger slicks to keep traction but with bigger slicks you will get more breakages, its that simple. Dyno queens can do what they want, it makes no odds, they certainly wont be doing the times that the power they make says they should be doing on the tarmac dyno if they aren't set up properly.

I'm done here.

To the OP, good luck with your endeavors.

Tell that to Tony Palo who runs 8.90's in a full street trim Integra at 160 mph. That is not slow at all. There is a in car video of that car and you can see how the car reacts as more boost comes in on the top end side. It is a wicked feature and the cars stay together.

I never said that you don't know what you are talking about. I simply said you obviously don't know how well it works. The OP is breaking transmissions and a solution was presented to him. Then you come back and say that it will slow the car down. That is not true. The car can become faster and more functional. It can also help him with the tranny breaking issue.

Trust me this isn't some magazine info this is factual stuff that I have dealt with first hand.
