brian crower cams any good
I was looking at some brian crower cams for my gtir, im looking at stage 2 cams and stage 3 cams, what is the difference in the cams, im just looking for something to bump up my car a little bit before I install my 2871r, are brian crower cams any good.? will I notice a big difference over stock cams?

There was a dyno with BC2 cams in W10 (or U12) SR20DET, gain was around 30whp.

thats considerablely good I was looking at some dynos with the garrett gt2871R .86 and .64. I was trying to get a comparsion on the 2 turbos as far as lag time goes, I actually found some dyno sheets showing that an ..86 2871r with cams was spooling faster than a .64 without cams so I figured I could get 30 hp out of it and shave some lag for about 300 bucks. And get a slightly higher rev limiter

im rockin the gt2871r .86 ar and the turbo deso spool up very nicely, i have the hks step 2 and coupled with the turbo the car when it was tuned at 10lbs was seeing full boost at 3600rpm was seeing 18lbs at around 4000rpm which is really nice.. on the highway the boost is instant no lag almost like a supercharger + the turbos boost doesnt fall off, holds striaght to redline

im running a custom log manifold, doesnt have any problem on my setup with clearences plenty of room between block and turbo. not a TON of room but its not tight either.

K, Im running a gtir engine and mani so Im not sure about clearance, are you running external wastegate? I called Brain Crower and they almost insisted running a spring retainer kit with the stage 2 cams, do u think I need one?

stage 2 isn't necessary. Stage 3 is

i would get s4's over the crowers because the s4's are an instant drop in and the crowers needto be adjusted with to see the most power from them. Springs, retainers and cam gears arent a must but it definitely helps with the crowers but to keep it simple I would go with s4's
