Tial 50mm, I like it. I had a crushed dsm one, it was complete garbage. Caused too much compressor surge and destroyed 2 turbos. Not crushed they work fine though, can't beat the price.

gee whiz how far did you crush it?

I have had very very little compressor surge. You must have had it crushed too far or your lines were not hooked up right because there is no way a crushed dsm even has as much surge as most adjustable ones do.

crushing them screws up the responce this is why I picked up a h34 to replace the 1 dsm but you can mod them to pretty much hold unlimited amounts of boost. Like this
DDG- Talon BOV mod for HIGH BOOST

My black car originally had an open Tial BOV on a draw through setup when I first bought it. It compressor surged like a mofo, so I got rid of it ASAP.

I got a DSM bov (uncrushed) that didn't work very well for me, but there was something wrong with it. I was still getting quite a bit of compressor surge. When I tested it with a vacuum pump, it didn't even start to open until 15 inHg. Again, there was obviously something wrong with it, most people seem to like them.

After that I switched to a Greddy RS recirc'ed, which I liked very much. Pretty much silent, no compressor surge, happy camper.

Right now I have a Turbo XS recirc'ed on my white car. It's OK. It's not as quiet as the Greddy was, and once in a great while coming out of part throttle low RPMs I get a split second of surge. I plan on replacing it eventually.

and the reason is...

More prone to failure or something? IDK, from my experience with compressor surge (with 3 out of 4 BOVs I've owned), I very much like having the ability to control it.

Greddy Type S, recirculated. Sounds good and works infinitely better than my 3 leaking stock ones.

Going to ditch my 44mm TiAL wastegate in favor of a Synapse unit, too. (Their wastegate has a boost controller built into the tophat.) Another reason to consider: They pulled a 50mm TiAL wastegate off of a test car, slapped on their Synapse unit, and at LESS boost, made +20whp at redline. Dyno sheets comparing multiple variables all showed consistant increases in power with less boost.

Sorry /offtopic.

Which wastegate is this Tekkie? Do you have info on this?
