help plz
swapped a sr20ve head on a aviner block with T25, i pluged the oil return whole in the head and did the whole drilling and tapping to put a ve head on the det block. so i built the motor and installed it in the car, during start up it ides but my oil psi light is on and i installed a autometer oil psi gauge. I used a distribution block to allow to use my oil psi sensor (factory), my autometer psi sender, autormeter temp senser and oil return. My problem is that i am unsure if i have oil psi in the engine. The car ran for over 30min no knocking or strange noises. coolant temp gauge works.

how can i check if there is oil psi in engine. I plan to buy a new sender, i bought the gauges used so sender could be wrong, but also my factory one...?

i took the valve cover off and there is some oil pooling but when i had the car idling today i could not see oil beeing squirted on the cam lobs....?

*** oil is the blood of the car i am worried... help plz

cheers

ok guys so today first off i had to reseal my oil pan and in doing that i found that the oil pick up tube gasket was blocking the pick up.... so i fixed that.

then tryied turning the engine over with no oil filter still nothing came out. \

then i took off the crank pully and found that the keyway was missing so i put that in and tried turning over the engine still no oil came out

i took off the oil filter housing. and it was bone dry

so i am leading towards that i need a new oil pump..... any ideas

because i am really giving up and i think the motor is starting to get hurt with all the trys of me just cranking it over.

tomorrow morning i plan to take off the front cover and check out the oil pump........ does anyone have an oil pump for a sr20det aviener.... or what interchange able.

Guys i am really giving up on this build and am soon willing to just throw the old motor back in.....help plz

cheers

any regular DE pump will work for you. Sounds like there are some issues... I would take the old pump apart to see what is going on.
