Thread: upgrading turbo-need help

just glad to see your up and running. It sucks when you do a upgrade and then your car will not run.

I am not a fan of any puck clutch the shock load will kill a stock tranny quick. I have been using the act xtss setup with a findaza flywheel on the turbo car for about 5 years now. I have used two different turbos(gt28r,gt28rs) on this setup and I am about to go bigger on the turbo again. I have also had good luck with the jwt pp with the se disk and clutchmaster setups.

another problem.. so im driving the car and all of a sudden it shuts off.. i pull over and it wont start.. i crank and crank and nothin.. im thinking its out of fuel and my gauge isnt reading right so i walk to put some gas in and still nothing.. finally after cranking it starts.. i drive it about 3 blocks and it shuts off again.. i get tired of cranking and i call my lil bro to tow it home.. once i get home i try it one more time and it starts right up no problems and drives.. im starting to think i have a bad coil or igniter..

check fuel pump?

ya fuel pump kicks on and the gauge reads pressure while cranking..

if you have a laptop buy nissan data scan. This is very helpful in tracking down problems. I have it and I can tell you it has payed for itself many times over and I have been able to help so many people because I was able to datalog and capture the problem. Many times I have cars brought to me that are barely running and I can have them running right in 30min with datascan.

i went to the local salvage yard and got a new coil and igniter.. started right up.. hope that was the problem

lol im having a problem similar to yours.
Mine drives fine under boost and deceleration (no pedal)
but when i use part throttle when decelerating, i get pops and hesitation....

Going to change my plugs and wires and rotor button tomorrow. Going to get a cap on order.

so i went to start it and again nothing.. i noticed that the fuel pump wasnt clicking on. so it seems that it turns on spuratically. now what i need to figure out is if its the actual fuel pump going out or if its the ecu not clicking it on.
