ive about lost hope
so first im told a 240sx maf will work fine without moding my ecu start the car plug in the maf kills the car then tekkie tells me use 54mm bored housing with 53j00 maf sensor and i wont have to mod my ecu. start the car runs fine but i plug in the maf it dies immediately.. any advice please feel free to let me know. if not i guess the next thing to do is b uy a jwt ecu used from someone( if you have one let me know) if that still doesnt work im gunna set tthe bitch on fire

why dont you do things the right way instead of trying to rig things.

get jwt ecu or a calum ecu.

get the correct maf be it z32 or lighting.

then your car will work.

IIRC He's using a DET ECU. All sensors are DET sensors.

What's so incorrect about that?

Nut - check grounds, reground your MAF, make sure it's wired correctly if you cut the MAF harness...

all my years around nissans i have never seen a single b13, b14 or a g ride that ever ran good using a det ecu regardless if it had the sensors etc.

jwt would not offer ecu's if there was a cheaper way to correctly control engine management.

I'm with stratton. I ran several JDM ECU's (U12, U13, W10, GTi-R) on my B13 w/my stock DE without succes, swapping sensors, messing with settings on the SAFC, rewiring, regrounding, etc etc. etc. It's all a mess. Best bang for the buck is a calum basic ECU and you'll be golden.

2 of my friends are running det ecus and are dead reliable. not sure what the issue is...

question why don't you plug the stock maf in there. if the harness has not been modified i do not see why you would have a problem. What your set up as far as fuel control, inj.maf.ecu.pump.regulator?

Stratton, my old turbo set up was ran with a GTIR MAF, GTIR ECU with all JDM sensors tuned with a S-AFC and trust me bro that ****ing set up ran like a raped ape.

We have done this many times using all the JDM electronics and the cars have run flawless.

Now with the options we have no I will say hands down a Calum ECU would be the best easiest bet.
