Problem is that he doesn't have quick and easy access to a moates burner, since he has a basic ECU. He will have to wait until someone local to him brings one.

Teekie, Thats exactly what Im thinking of doing on Saturday..

We are going over to Bill's house on Saturday morning. Bill has a Innovate LM-1 wideband and a Moates burner. We will try a few things: Basic OEM ECU bin, Eric's DET ECU bin, swapping the Dizzy & MAF w/known good ones, checking the ECU harness, disconnecting the Air Regulator, and hopefully a wideband test...

The plan is to do a few test runs and create some data logs & map traces, review the logs for any anomolies, and modify the bin files. If we dont see anything, then we will try other bin files; OEM bin, Calum DET basic bin, other bin modded files.

I didnt realize that Jen didnt have a secondary O2 bung (thinking of his SSAC setup). Hopefully, he gets one installed before Saturday for the wideband testing.

Who has a OEM DET bin?? I will need one.

i realize that, i just think that an ideal start would to go back to the basic tune for the motor before trying to run an upgraded tune.

Tomaz,
What r u calling a basic tune? OEM DET bin?

We do have a stock DE MAF and can adjust the AFPR to 3 bar. But which bin are u referring to?

my bad...on OEM det bin is what I mean...and go back to de maf, 3 bar. ^^ yea try that.

just from reading i think it is more of an ecu/tune issue, ...what I think would help more is if jen would try the stock det ecu, but i dont think he has it anymore. also is the n60 maf? is it wired up and grounded correctly? try de maf.

i can get you some DET .bins and .ADR from nistune but you will need to use Nistune or romeditor to mod them or use them unless you have the right xdf files for tunerpro.

Very good, sir. I'm sure you guys will be able to get it figured out this weekend. If I didn't have to go home this weekend I'd cruise down.

Agree with your analysis. But, Im also thinking it could be the MAF or maybe even the Dizzy.
Unfortunately, we dont have a stock DET ECU so I must do this with Bin files.
Yes, this is a N60 MAF. Checked the connections last week and everything appeared to be wired correctly with NO Codes..
I tested and applied the MAF reground mod. So thats done.

Please email me the DET bins & .ADR files. I have Romeditor & TunerPro.
Also have access to Nistune. Thanks..

I had mentioned the Dizzy to him, but it doesn't make sense that it could just FUBAR itself from the time he took it out of the DE, and put it in the DET. I know the CAS is fragile, but not THAT fragile.

Also, when he's driving it, it runs just fine, to me it has everything to do with the ECU when at idle.

Scotty, try something for me. When you hook up using the consult cable, look at the AAC when the car is at idle, and throttle plate closed. If it's not "ON" in NDS, adjust the TPS until it shows ON. Then check voltage at TPS and ensure it's not below .3vdc. I forgot to mention this to you the other day. If the AAC is "OFF", and throttle is closed, then the ECU doesn't use AAC for idle because it thinks the butterfly is open, and throttle is being applied.

IF the above works as it should, then disconnect all piping, and run N/A, to see if the idle changes any. Lets try and remove the turbo from the mix.

Will do Tekkie..

Last week when I was checking the TPS & Air Regulator, I watched the AAC with cold engine start. It appeared to be working fine. When cold the AAC read in the 70s and lower to teens at operating temperature.

Really strange happenings with the TPS & O2 sensor though... Thats something ive never seen before. Im gonna ask Calum if he ever seen it..
