Did you really pay for OEM half shafts? Ouch!

lol, yeah sure did, ive yet to ever break an axle at the track and i doubt the slicks i have are even gonna grip enough to do so. Anyways i needed new axles at the time and found a brand new set for 100 shipped so i jumped on it.

I preload the drivetrain and dont get wheel hop so nothing to worry about for now. We will see how well they hold.

Don't worry, you're GOING to break half shafts, if not the tranny itself, with slicks on your build. EXPECT it.

the VE block also has the oil grooved for the main bearings like the GTIR.

its all in the hips, hahaha Happy Gilmore Quote

Anyways i wouldnt doubt it if i catch traction in 3rd and it snaps but i dont think ill grip enough in 1st and 2nd to break it off the line. Ive launched on slicks many times using the preloading technique and havent had any problems. It really helps

yep I noticed that so oiling should be really good. Plus acl race bearings have a 3/4 groove on them as well to really help with oiling to the rod bearings and mains. But im asuming its more for rod oiling. So im not worried about rod bearing problems. Plus after the breakin on 5w30 conventional oil im going with mobil 1 15w50 no more messing around with thinner stuff. Although i havent had problems with the 10w40 but thicker is definetly better for this build

Nice man.. wish you all the luck.
I think 10W60 its the way to go for your power levels...
Cheers.

15w50 would be fine for AZ temps. Most guys in El Paso run 10w40 standard on their toys about 300 days out of the year. We're also not as hot as Yuma, either.

thanks man, yeah no kidding, well more like motor 8.5 but this is my first actual full build so we will see. I had a semi build but we all know what happened to that one. Again that is the reason for the RR hydraulic lifters. No more lifter failures. haha

I really dont see 500hp on this to be honest but please do prove me wrong just for the sake of I like seeing people make big power.
