Plus no one has really said why the T3/T4 turbos everyone is trying to sell me would be better than going for the GT3071R.

There is no real advantage to running a non ball bearing turbo. Except not having to plumb coolant lines, and cost. Reliability may also be sacrificed with the non ball-bearing.

The ball-bearing may spool a few hundred rpm sooner. If you are gonna run a big a/r exhaust side, I would definately go ball-bearing to help in drivability. If it's a daily driver, I prefer a smaller a/r so you aren't always feeling like your flooring it to feel abit of fun.

Turbo response is everything to me. Just my 2 cents.

The 3071r with the 86 housing will still spool faster than the 3076r with a .63. I would do that.

i would recommend for 350-400whp a 2871r with the large housing or a BB37 like i used. very easy to hit 350+ whp on a stock det at about 18-20 psi. if you plan on using a de+t setup i would imagine you could do it at a lil lower boost from the extra compresion. if you go with any cams at all that turbo will spool very fast and have a nice top end. on 8.5 comp with s4's my bb37 (basicaly a 2871r with a 3" inlet pipe instead of 4") full 20 psi spool at about 4k.
