Timing on a SR20DE+T?
so i looked around and i know that most people run base timing which is 15*

i just want some advice/suggestions

do i keep it at 15 or can i advance it, and still play it relatively safe 17*, 19*?

i always use 93 octane

and this is my setup:
T3 60/63 Stage 3 with a .48 exhaust housing, Msd 50 lbs top feed injectors, N60 MAF, JDM 10:1 DE with DET pistons, UR crank pulley with belt to Alt, no A/C, PS, electric waterpump

If I were you Id run a lower base timing then that with a 10.1 motor. Your tune has to be spot on with that motor.

its not a 10:1 motor its got det pistons, but either way even with the det pistons and lower compression, it depends on the boost level your running. but i would keep it at 15 deg, not many people go higher than that, Its already at the limits on pump when it comes to timing in the midrange to upper power band. Especially if your boosting quite a bit.

Oh well yeah if its 8.5 then put it at 15. I run mine at about 13-14.

All depends on the bin. total advance. Adjusting the base timing if you dont know the total advance of the bin. its pointless...

Exactly!

On a sidenote when i was running my OG sr with 175k on the clock and a t25 running a jwt ecu. I had the timing as far as 19*, but I was running 110octane, so i don't think I was knocking.....maybe??? That car ran its azzz off and was running consistantly in the LOW 13's 13.0-13.2 all at 108-110mph.....my problem was traction or i would have ran mid 12's...
