From: Zex website

Q: Do I need a purge kit?
A: A nitrous purge kit clears the delivery lines of unwanted air and vapor and guarantees immediate power from your nitrous system. It’s also used to intimidate your competition and shows the world your nitrous equipped. The ZEX™ purge kit (part #82010) uses the industry’s largest solenoid, creating an awesome purge cloud.

Wiki-

The purpose of a nitrous purge is to ensure that the correct amount of nitrous oxide is delivered the moment the system is activated—air or gaseous nitrous oxide in the line will cause the car to "bog" for an instant until liquid nitrous oxide reaches the intake.

nobody can tell i have nitrous on my car, everyone will know when you have a turbo

but main reason your gonna want a purge, if you have a wet kit and dont purge then you spraying fuel and just air for a breif second instead of the proper mix of fuel/nitrous

well if you hide the intercooler like Ben and i did and recirc the blow off valve its actually easy to hide it the only time you could hear my turbo over the 3" cut out is when it was boosting 14+ psi.

When I had a T28 and 3" DP with stock catback and recirc'd BOV, my car was quiet as a mouse
