I was actually going to make a thread like this. I'd like to know this as well. Is there a great benefit to it?

ok i know very little about nitrous, but one thing i know is that you need to purge it because you dont want a nitrous back fire for one, an for two so it doesnt fry your engine.. you basicly bleed the system of any air in the lines by purging it.. but seriously google will be your friend i think on this subject

i did my google search and most people are purging under the hood with a line running it where ever...so my 2nd question is a purge soleniod same as a nitrous solenoid, just opening it up and closing it for a brief moment???

A purge solenoid functions the same as a nitrous solenoid yes. It just opens and closes to bleed the line of air, or to drop the nitrous pressure if necessary. Most of the time, and in my case, you don't use a relay when wiring up the purge so you can't just hold the button. You have to pulse it. Mine runs out under the hood onto the cowl and sprays straight up the center of the windshield.

You can't really be sleeper with a purge kit, a trained ear can easily pick that up. You don't really need it to run your system it is just recommended for best results.
