The ORIGINAL Nissan 240sx Forums - 240sx Club of America is a good resource. RWD seem to be fun cars to drive.

as far as motors, id say just like any other build. what goals are you aiming for? for some reason i dont beleave in putting a 2j into a Nissan(if u want 2j buy a supra). iv had a 240 and sold it, if i did keep it id possibly consider an RB. if i get another RWD nissan to toy with it will be a hardbody and eventually swap an SR or boost the KA

otherwise its all preference

I want a RWD 240 and not a 2j lol I really like the SR series but some ppl are telling me some are FWD... I like the s13 bodystyle with the silvia front or maybe a gtr front conversion... I am just looking for some good advice and maybe some good websites places in the fla area... Im from orlando and everything here costs an arm n a leg.. so maybe Ocala or Miami.. Im not a rookie with cars just with 240's. If anyone knows any deals or cars in the area I am all ears....

boost the KA!! You won't be disappointed if you do it right and will save a sh*t ton of money.

research as much as you can first, this way when you ask a question and need advice the answers you get will have much better meaning to you.

BIGD, welcome to the forum!
I'm sorry you haven't gotten a proper reception yet but some of our members like to jump into the thick of it and forget to be cordial.

I share your love for RWD (as I think most car guys do) and agree that a S13 with the Silvia front end conversion is a great looking car. Hopefully you're not stuck on the concept of swapping engines in the S13. The KA24DE is a more capable engine than the SR20 we here all know and love. There is no denying that. The only advantage the SR20 has going for it is better aftermarket support.

Now if you find a S13 with a KA24E (single overhead cam) then you should consider swapping to the KA24DE engine with the dual overhead cams. If you want to keep power steering and A/C you may need to also source those parts from a dual overhead cam car.

If for some reason you're absolutely determined to put some different engine in there, I'd recommend the RWD SR20DET (yes there are FWD SR20 engines and you don't want those because the RWD transmission won't bolt up to them). The aftermarket support is there and power potential is quite high. We have a guy here making 700 WHP on his.

The RB swap is more complicated, expensive, and around here we all like to do more with less so you're not going to find much support for an engine that is just all together too much engine for that car. If you're planning on making 500 WHP or less the SR20 is going to be the cheaper option. However keep in mind the KA24DE is going to be the cheapest option for sure and with a little money/skill you can have a monster of an engine (even with high revs if you want).

Some of us around here are familiar with the S chassis and motor swaps so you should be able to find good info here. However you might have a look at some other forums that have many more S chassis owners like Zilvia.net or http://forums.freshalloy.com/ to get a better idea of what you'd like to do to your car.

just dont expect it to be that reliable of a DD either way. 240's have this way of breaking every day... and motor swaps are just very un reliable. although since ur from o town u can find anything u want if u got the $$$
