I read that SERCA had about 90 cars. Back when we had a meet at Markham on '02 or '03 we had about 100+ cars IIRC. In the Markham meet in December we had about 30 cars, that's about a third of SERCA attendance, and thats just some cats from Dade, Broward & Palm Beach, not counting how many flaked. If mostly Florida boys show up I'm sure we can beat that.

SERCA never had a meet in FL.

FL guys put a meet together and pulled that type of SERs

Miko, have your own "convention" down there and you can use the FloridaSR20's forum to announce it, but you constantly pushing this anti-Florida crap is putting a lot of strain on this forum just like it did on the last forum. We don't have room for all of this bickering! Stop the antagonizing and just let it go.

SERCA had 90 cars? That's it? Wow, here i had the impression that SERCA had in the hundreds. But what do i know.

Yeah that Markham meet in dec. was righteous! Had we had more time to plan we could have probably scheduled a track event for the next day.

Or i would even go out on a limb and say geekout for those having a hard time getting their SE-R's to run right/upgraded/etc.

I for one would be down for whatever. As long as we can unite on this idea we can make it happen. Sure it may start out slow and probably a little unorganized but we'll be getting the ball rolling.

It doesn't matter to me if the dates would be the same as the SERCA dates, as what it looks to me is that they'll never touch Florida anyway.

Just my deux cents...

It is not going to be a problem to the National Convention. As you know and heard from other people FL dont go to the National Conventions so us holding our yearly FL Convention will not hurt its attendance

Since the other thread was closed, I would like to respond to this, and this will be the last I will say on it.

FL did not ask SERCA for any F__KING money did we. We just wanted a go ahead. We can come up with our own damn money so get off of that crap. SERCA just wants there name on it so they can collect more money in memebership.

We never asked for SERCA money
We dont want no F__king SERCA money
All we asked for was the National convention.

Thats when they, SERCA said we need to have a cetain amount of memebers to have that happen. Now you tell me who was asking who for money. These are the damn facts so dont change them around.

We can pull our own DAMN money. That is the least of the probelm.

*snip*
Dont Mother F__king tell me we need SERCA money.

Let me say it again, all we wanted was the go ahead. That was it they could keep there money.

If you didn't want SERCA money, then why didn't you organize your own convention? The National Convention was something that SERCA put on, so if you didn't want that club involved, then what was keeping you from holding your own convention, with your own money, and not dealing with them? If you are so bitter with SERCA, then why do you want the SERCA National Convention to be brought to Florida? First you bash the club, then you want to hold an event in the club's name. I'm confused on that. You have it in your mind that the whole point of SERCA was to diss Florida. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is, when SERCA was taking memberships, FL had 1 member, and others had already said they didn't want to join. Why would a club give money or let a group of non paying members hold an event in their name? Please tell me of another group or club that would allow this? Do you see a BMW Club of America track event being run by people who are not in the club? Didn't think so.

I had another response to Yosho's last comment typed up, but I lost it when I tried to reply to the other thread, and I don't have time to redo it.

Why does SERCA not want any new members? What's the reason behind announcing a city, but not a date?

That's confusing to me, but then again i have the brain of a 12 yr old.

We do not want a SERCA convention any more. We wanted one back in the day.

This is how it happened.

We wanted a SER convention.
They said we had to join SERCA to hold one.
Rob and a few of the guys got together to become members. They go itouch with SERCA and they said they aint taking memebers

So you need to be a memeber for the National convention, So you are not in
You try to become a meber and they dont take members s its closed. You are out again

and you want use to shut up about it.

How can we hold a convention and put it up on the forum, meaning the last Forum when all you guys are going to the yearly National convention that was posted. Guys are voting on this and we aint getting any vote becasue of bias feelings. So why go and do all the work when you gus are going somewhere else.

At no point can you find us asking for money. All we asked for was a agreement for the SR20forum community that it was coming to FL. Since you guys always wanted to go somehwere else, why prepair when it is always going somewhere else.

Now guys are crying that we want to hold one on the same dates as the Natinoal SERCA convention in which we still dont want there damn money.

We are now doing our own thing and you all dont like it.

Its called make a stand.

Where have you been since these conventions started. I know for a fact you just got your DL not to long ago, while these conventions were going down and we were asking for them to come here.

it is making a stand, only its not just trying to be a dick and stop people from going to a place were they have been going to in years... thats not gonna happen either. you have to make alternatives first, then take on the big show. if you can make serca Twice a year. whats the big deal? Supras have have TX2k8 then ORL2k8 and SILV2008and the meet in tampa as well....... they just dont throught the meet in orlando the same day as texas or SILV2006. they just advertise with them so people have time to go to those as well. people like to go to more than one meet a year lol.

if they dont want us to be in serca they thats fine. itll be a yearly East Coast meet for Ser's that we can have. those on the west coast that would like to join can just join in.
