you available at some point? I can stop down there. I found a QG 18 tranny in pavilion i was thinking about grabbing, so close to getting this thing done.

Any thoughts, I've triple checked the exploded diagram in the FSM, and have followed the disassembly and assembly steps repeatedly. No luck though

Check the pin isn't stuck beneath the rod.

I had one of the check balls drop into the hole the rod sits in without knowing, stopped it being able to select gears properly.

checked that, all the balls were in the correct pattern:
D=pin
O=check ball
(pppp)= pin inside shaft 2
Bolt. [//////////////////]DDDDDDDD O shaft1 DDDDD O (pppp) shaft2 O O shaft3
Here's a pic of the holes for your shift-shafts, and you can see the paths the check balls sit in.

Also I can move each shift fork with my hands through each gear 1,2 + 5+rev are easy, 3rd and 4th are a bit tougher but i can still get all the shafts to go down and up.

Got it, i put the case on and everything was smooth like butter, the case will steady to top of the shift rods quite a bit.
