You just described exactly what a old worn out stretched cable feels like...LOL

Please let us know how it is after installing a new cable.

I am approaching seven years since I last replaced my B14 cable and it feels just like I am trudging my foot through quicksand. I have not adjusting the thing in forever since it is maxed out in that aspect.

I still have a spare but I keep procrastinating on installing it.

Hmm, when you say firewall bracket do you mean inside the firewall as part of the clutch pedal assembly? I haven't noticed anything obviously cracked but I'll take a closer look when I throw the new cable in.

Also, I have one of Miko's reinforced tranny brackets with the spacer welded on so I'm actually almost out of room for adjustment the other way, like for loosening it lol

Lol why replace it when you can lube it... I bought a shitty one from autozone or something and it sucked ass at first, rough as hell, felt like the clutch was hard when it was OEM... I lubed it and it was a night and day difference

If you drive it more than 4 times a week that must be some kind of record, ha. I know people who had the cables snap randomly on totally stock B14's.

121,000+ miles on the cable, daily driven. And I drive it like a fuggin retard.

Original cable still in the '92 NX...I specifically asked. "The clutch was replaced but there was never a need to replace the cable." 230k miles and still feels great! I love finding one owner, adult driven, smokin' deals!

Haha I'm not sure if my cable has ever been replaced, I'm at about 227k now and I've had the car since 136... I do a lot of city driving delivering pizzas so it gets quite a beating, I won't be surprised if it's a little worn out by now.

I did try greasing the cable a while back and didn't really feel a difference...

Take the cable out, white lithium spray grease in that cable and work it, let it sit overnight, re-install. Should be good for a few months.
