quickest tranny removal?
I've replaced about 5 trannies in my life but never pulled from a wrecker where I didn't care about the rest of the car. Any tips on how to take it out the quickest way possible? Still crossmember axles/hub then other engine mouts, drag it from under car and then seperate from engine or...? Sawzall axles..or Any tricks?

Give Mike Jez a call. He's done a swap in 45 minutes.

Remove axles nuts, shift likange from trans, crossmember, sidemounts and let everything fall to the floor. Pull it out and have fun.

Why are you guys removing the cross member. I've never had to remove mine for a trans. Skip that step its a waste of time

1. axles
2. linkage
3. clutch cable
4. loosen all the bolts connecting trans to engine
5. driver motor mount
6. trans bolts
7. wiggle trans off guide pins
8. bench press
9. place tob clips in pocket or tool box

i left out the part where you should drain the gear oil... do that before you pull the axles.

Cutting the trans out will take longer then just removing it the correct way.
