Does that mean that we can start sending in our hubs to get splined?

Call and speak with Tad first.

I picked up some '06 Spec V non-ABS axles. I tried putting them thru the new re-splined hubs, and it is an extremely tight fit. So tight that I had to use a hammer to work it in. I pulled it back out and there wasn't any signs of metal shavings or rounding out - so in other words, it is virgin tight.

I'll be calling Tad tomorrow to give him an update.

Is that going to be a potential problem?

Could be. I am going to talk to Tad to see what he thinks - so we'll go from there. I'll work the hubs on and off a few times with some axle grease to see if I can buy me some more wiggle room.

Its gonna be a tight fit for resplined hubs. They will wear in over time. Id throw some grease on the splines to help get them in and out easier.

Haven't read any of this thread yet but i'll be starting my swap soon. I just got all my parts out of an '06 spec v. You know how I am about budget building things and making things work if you've ever seen my build thread. I'm going to try to do the swap without peeking at anything in this thread just so I can give some input after I'm done and maybe some different ways of doing things.

What are you guys using for Axle seals? Do the 02+ spec v seals work just fine in the P12 bellhousing? I couldn't find them at local parts stores, looks like a dealer only item.

Yes, spec v seals are the same. I got mine from greg. Both the driver and passenger side seals are the same.

Looks like the Spec V axles are a little short for the P11, I have to stretch them .5-1" unfortunately. I'm wondering if this will ruin the axle long term.

Onto another problem, P12 axle carrier doesn't really fit all that well. I'm trying to figure out a way to get it to work.

If mounted on the axle it doesn't reach:

If mounted on the motor, there is a 1.45" gap between the bracket and axle.

P11 stock axle bracket could work with some hefty spacers between the bracket and the engine.

Though since the axle length is different (longer on the center shaft), the bolts don't match up either.

Also this is interesting, P10 non LSD has a bracket very similar looking to the P12 one, though i wonder if the angle is off like on a regular p11 one.
