im assuming the car has at least a stock det ecu and injectors for tuning. that being said, if your stuck at 7 psi, take off the downpipe, i HOPE you have decent enough tires for a reasonable launch, and go for it. a evo on 25psi is quick, but deceptively so. if its just flashed, you might have some hope of getting him. 7 psi is a stretch, but ya never know. but 12psi, slicks, a proper tune is all it takes to beat one at the track if its a stock evo 9.....i do have a few friends with em....and its not hard to beat when your car only weighs 2200-2400 pounds.

downpipe off you should get a few extra pounds of boost....figured it was a free extra hp, and at the track so why not.

If this goes down on the streets on street tires you will probably lose by several car lengths. You might start to pull back a bit but wont catch him. If its a good running car then you probably wont even do that.

Thats why i recommend to up the boost to 12 and do the run at the track on slicks. If you dont, you will lose.

makes me think of daveracer back in the day running super low 12s on a stock t25 setup....i want to say 16psi and a top mount. could be wrong, this was YEARS ago....but anyways, he was running a 12.0 i believe in the end on a stock t25/topmount. remember contacting him about as i didnt believe it. most evo owners around HERE are tool bags, cannot drive, and think their stock cars are beast. i know of a few evos here that ARE sick....but these are few, and far between. if evo REALLY has 390 hp.....eh, probably will beat up on the sentra. if sentra is properly race prepped and boost controller is employed, good race. my guess though is evo owner is a standard groupie who just bought his car and thinks hes god, cant drive, and will be easily beaten. i am biased, i have a stereoypical viewpoint.....but usually pans out to be accurate. i say race his ass one way or the other, theres really nothing to lose. my wager is purely based on my image of local toolbag evo owners. lol.

I personally know of a couple stock turbo evos on E85 making close to 400

You without a doubt need slicks or a decent set of street radials, you should be able yank about 220hp out of your setup with a stock motor you'll need every ounce of power. You need to strip the interior as well though. The thing with evo guys is they got big heads but not all of them know how to drive, we have a guy claiming that he makes 400 he runs 13.8- 14.5. I am gunning for his ass All motor very soon. The evo will have to go through 4-5 gears while you go threw 3-4 that throws thing your way slightly as well. I feel this should be a even race.

7psi with stock DE vs 390awhp?
you are gonna get your ass handed to you, he will pull faster out of the hole and keep pulling distance on you all the way...

I have seen 400whp EVO and they pull a lot harder than a stock T25 DET @7psi for sure

Yeah i did the 12.4@110 on only 8psi on slicks, I later had it up to spiking 16 falling to 13 and at the 1/8th mile i was .2 ahead of my 12.4 time and then melted a piston at the 1000 ft mark and coasted to a 12.4@99mph. I was on a pace to run a 12.0 or so maybe even an 11. who knows. I upgraded after that. lol After ruining motors overboosting the t25 i figured the only way to make more power was to go t3. After that i had a reliable setup that evos, sti, vettes, anything on the streets where i lived could not stand a chance and would get walked like it was standing still.
