I just wanted to stop by and say that I agree with most, if not all, of what BenFenner has said in this thread.

In Shawn's build thread all I remember reading was that he was sending his car up to Marsh Tuning, not Jamie and two other guys. In any business if a client has an agreement with business 1 and business 1 sub-contracts to business 2, then business 1 still answers to the client. The involvement of Business 2 should be transparent to the client.

Knowing how thorough Shawn has been with his car, I as a builder would take extreme pride in doing as good a job as I possibly could. If the car had wiring issues when I got it I would have redone the wiring. Any minor thing I would have found I would have told Shawn and I would have fixed. Rusty radiator mounts as observed in the pictures? Sand blasted and powder coated, what's $20 on a $9000 build. That's the kind of build I would have expected for that money, and what Marsh tuning should have expected Shawn to want.

I only work on my cars and thus am not as experienced as the guy that did the work, but based on the pictures I can tell you that I would 100% have done a better job than that.

Shawn:
To my knowledge and practice Zip-ties on silicone vacuum hoses is acceptable, those ungodly brass fittings... not so much.

Hard to see, but main panel no lights, while the Chriscar Gauge Cluster is lit. Brilliant.

I suppose the ballast (?) for the fogs could have been held down with a tie wrap at least?

Greenish AC goo leaking at the firewall. Cody Ace caught this one the first night.

Melted fan wire sheath. Too much slack. Hit the exhaust manifold. Fixed by me with tie wrap.

They did a nice job of re-locating my alarm horn.

0-250 Gauge. 0-150 temp sender. Didn't figure it out when I pointed it out. I'll try to get a pic of the "150" stamped on that sender.

"They don't make the right coupler." Derp derp.

Two for one. Nice work on that plastic loom for the plug wires that are right next to the open, silver, thumb-sized bung on the valve cover which is leaking oil.

Loose wires and electrical doohickies under the air to water silver box thing....
[/URL

Fuse box held in by gravity and luck.

Tie wrap and tuck under console? No? OK.

Loose and sloppy wiring.

Hose gonna collapse.

Hose gonna collapse.

PCV what? Open hole blows a nice stream of air from the valve cover. It's to cool the fuel injectors.

Extra hose. We're saving it for later.

When you see it.....

Awesome.

We don't need no AN fittings and fancy anodized parts.

I don't remember Chris and/or I hitting anything with the oil pan, but we theoretically could have. I do have a Loco Performance underbody skid plate on order. Seems I probably need a new oil pan.

Just had time to catch up and check the pics out.. wow.. I know I'm no professional and I'd be embarrassed for Shawn to see my car but even I have more skills then whoever put that thing together.. whoever called that hot mess fabrication is high on glue..

Glad someone's stepping up to the plate to make things right hopefully it happens sooner than later..

I think you are looking at the wire by the battery? That is a pig-tail for my battery charger. Came with the charger, has a small two prong jack at the other end. Makes plugging in the charger a 30-second secure hook-up.

This is such a key point.

Mark allowed a subcontractor to speak to the client (and supposed friend) in that manner, and in writing (ffs).

The way Justin spoke to me would have escalated in person to a very ugly place for both parties.

It was despicable. Off the fucking charts unprofessional.

Mark did nothing. Not one gawd-damned thing.

Pouted, whined and had the audacity to scold me for being pissed and using "motherfucker." Which must have upset his delicate sensibilities. I do declare, no one would ever expect a (justifiably and righteously) mad Shawn to use such atrocious and ungentlemanly, uncouth language.

It's one of the key reasons I was done talking to Mark.

Nice eyeball. I just noticed those yesterday while looking around the bay. However you win for being the first to mention them. I'da been happy with proper rust killing, primer and black Rustoleum, but I would have loved it if you powder coated them.

Another tip for the fuel cut issue;
Throttle position sensor (TPS)

Our engine harness wirings are getting old. Its good practice to verify that the TPS ground is actually a ground. Mine had some resistance in it, making it behave twitchy at low rpms (1500-1900). Grab a multimeter, and check the highest pin (black). It should be as close to 0 Ohm as possible. If you get some funky reading over 1 Ohm, it's bad. Cut the wire, and bolt it over to the intake manifold. Many people only check that the TPS reads out 0.5V at closed, 4V at WOT, and totally forget about the ground pin. Only takes a few seconds to check, and could save hours of headaches

Took me a couple hours to read this thread.

I've had fantastic experience working with Jamie. Mixed exp. with Mark although that was many years ago. I hope that it gets resolved and everyone is satisfied..
