He sure as hell did. He just didn't post those exchanges. And he also didn't post any of the times I sent him photos of the manifold. Convenient huh?

Why not post them yourself then? It behooves you to prove your point for your own reputation.

I do feel for you. You paid almost $500 for a header that is not as you thought it was supposed to be. I'd be pissed too! You erred when you decided not to get detailed photos of the header before purchase. You have admitted that, so good on you. Trust nobody should be your mew motto.

In regards to arguing and fighting with the other members, I wouldn't bother. It does nothing positive for your position and only adds weight of more stress to your shoulders. This is not a command but merely a suggestion. You have provided your evidence and depsite your error, it does appear that you were sold a damaged header without your knowledge (unless Jordan can prove he texted/emailed those pics prior to purchase). As mentioned by other members (and as evidenced by the posted pictures), the header was damaged prior to purchase, save for maybe some additional scratches or dings which can not be quantified. This does not look good on Storm88000. Not wrapping the header in bubble and/or foam wrap also does not look good on the seller.

It also appears (from the posted texts) that you did not threaten Jordan in any way so that appears to be a mute point at this time. I wouldn't even bother responding on this further.

At the end of the day, what do you now hope to get out of this thread? It appears that Storm88000 has shut down and is not willing to deal in any way shape or form. I can also tell you that judging from his many posts on this forum and from his many altercations (with various members) on this forum, that he does not respond well to stress and has overreacted to a few harmless situations on here. I have no doubt that he is a genuine guy and that his heart is in the right place but that doesn't change the current state of the situation, unfortunately. I believe the moment you made this thread, Storm became defensive to a point that he would no longer be willing to deal. I hope I am wrong in this regard.

You have presented evidence that Storm88000 does not appear to want to refute at this time. If your goal was to show a negative transaction with him, I believe you have done so and the membership will judge the evidence as they see fit. You can not force people to side with you, no matter how hard you try. Some will, some wont. Also people usually (although certainly not always) tend to judge others based upon any relevant experiences they have had with the person in question. Having said that, trying to convince friends of his or members that have nothing but good experiences with him, that he should bot be trusted, may be a futile effort. People will judge as they see fit.

Something that I find disconcerting is the fact that the seller has apparently been dishonest with the membership here on atleast a couple of occasions. Firstly, he told you to fraudently claim that there was packing in the box, when dealing with UPS during the claims process. He told you that the box was sealed prior to dropping it off for shipping and as such, UPS would have no idea how it was packed. Then in this thread, he claimed that he left the box open and that UPS sealed/taped the box. The evidence here is illuminating to say the least. Secondly, he claims to have sent you pictures of the header (with damage visible, although not verbally disclosed), prior to purchase. You said he did not and he can not or is not willing to provide evidence to the contrary. Maybe he deleted the texts by accident, maybe his phone auto-cleans his text message weekly (possible) or maybe he never sent them. Unfortunately for him, in this day and age, if you make a substantial "digital claim" without said digital evidence, you claim is null and void. Point again for you. If you notice, the members who are arguing with you are not arguing these facts, the only fact they are arguing is that you purchased something without having full disclosure. So, all of this now becomes mute. His apparent dishonestly or lack of being forthright about the state of the header has not as of yet been disproven. You have admitted that you made an error in judgemnet by not getting all of the details before purchase so I far as I am concerned, those points have been settled...

I am not trying to minimize your situation nor am I trying to dissuade you from doing as you see fit. I am however trying to bring you some sort of clarity in the form of an outside and hopefully neutral perspective. As I said prior, if I were you, I'd be pissed at Storm88000 for not dealing with this as the stand-up member and man that he claims to be. I'd also be pissed at myself for entering into this transcation without full disclosure. Lesson learned I gather.

What do you now hope to get out of this? Your best bet would be to go throught whatever claims processes you see fit (paypal) and hope for the best possible outcome. I wish both of you the best of luck in finding a resolution and ridding yourselves of this unnecessary stress. The cheapest option for you is probably your best option unless Storm88000 is willing to deal again at some point in the very near future.

At the very least, you made this thread to prove a point and if you feel you have proven that point, you have done your job as best you can. I say this with the understanding that you have limited control over whether or not the seller is actually willing to work with you. I also say this with the knowledge that the forum here has limited powers of persuasion. They can not demand that Storm88000 do anything specific. They can only ban him here and peddle influence in his banning on other forums (if they see fit). I believe this thread has been eye-opening for some and maybe just re-inforcing for others.

Finally, just to be clear, I do not necessarily think this thread is an indictment of you or of @Storm88000 but appears more to be a situation where due diligence was not given the respect it deserved and the traits of being completely honest and forthright were not shown to have been at the forefront during the transaction process. Hopefully for both parties the representation I have given is merely situational and not habitual.

Best of luck to both parites. Hopefully the unnecessary clutter that is so prevelent in this thread will now cease to exist. Hopefully my post is not seen as an addition to the unnecessary clutter that I have just eluded to. :>

Correction *Moot point* not mute point.

This thread has jumped the shark....

I'd like to suggest two things...

1- Buyers please use due diligence and ask about the condition a part may be in. Do not assume anything. Know exactly what you're buying so no surprises when it shows up.

2- Buyer and seller should talk on the phone and have an actual conversation about the transaction. Texting back and forth over a $400+ sale is absolute bullshit. You may think you have "proof" of something in the event things go wrong, but chances are by talking one on one you'll have a feel for the "climate" of the transaction, "gut feeling".

True, but to the benefit who? The buyer.

Both actually. It would have benefitted the buyer if it had helped in the claims process. It would also have benefitted the seller as it would have allowed him to no longer be responsible for the current state of the header. At this point, ALL of the damage would then have been credited to UPS. As we now know, most if not all of the damage is shown in pictures prior to shipping.

Of course, had it been discovered that the seller lied in the claims process, it would have been at the detriment of the seller.

Absolutlely, for both the buyer and the seller. But the point is now mostly irrelevant because the package was opened in front of the UPS employees. :/

At this point it is not much more than a highlight in the back and forth between the two parties.
