Sorry to hear about this. Big problem is they sort of have a 2 faced warranty. Notice on the not covered parts it actually says "transmission".

I would look and see what there is in putting a claim against them federally. That's about all you can do since they are in Canada.

Where are you looking? I see toward the Warranty section -

5. Used Performance Transmissions – No Warranty

6. Used Replacment Transmissions – 60 Days

This falls under #6 Just a used automatic Honda Accord transmission.

C. ITEMS NOT COVERED

All external parts attached to the engines, e.g., intake and exhaust manifolds, carburetors, distributor, starter, emission control devices, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, oil pan, valve cover, sensors, electronic parts(distributor, wires, Computers, injectors, etc), transmissions, drive shafts, engine mounts, half shaft, etc

So in one place they say there is a 60 day , then below that say transmissions aren't covered... Shady!

Exactly, I hate companies like this. They just make you read the fine print and then bend you over when you don't. I mean it's common sense the guy bought a trans from you it didn't work, replace the POS.

Exactly, That sounds like if you buy a motor ( for a motor ) and a trans is attached its not covered.. But who knows either way im getting bent over
with no lube..

They should realize where there stuff is coming from and know that sometimes some of there parts will be bad and when they are they should honor it. Not give me the run around.

Next stop Canadian Better Business Bureau..

when they say external parts not covered and it says TRANSMISSION, it only applies if you are buying a motor and it happens to come with the trans, as a plus. but if you are buying a non performance trans it does come with said 60 day warranty. Go to the canadian bbb maybe they will send the mounties after them.

I wish it was that simple, sensors have been checked.. Trans has thrown the death codes already.

Bingo!

Most if not all engine importers will have a similar disclaimer. In fact, some of the US importers (of JDM engines) will have the exact same disclaimer as seen here:

Importing used engines is a crapshoot. Selling used engines is even more of a crapshoot when the variables of transportation, installer method, tune, and condition of supporting engine components all come in to play. This is the reason why the warranties are so strict.

Also, if you do not follow their exact return procedure, they will void the contract. They flat-out just don't care!

QUiKSR20, whatever you do, keep up with this. Keep calling and emailing and if you get nowhere, make sure they know how far you plan to take this. Make sure it is clear to them that you plan to tell everyone that will listen about your experience with them!

Quick story, somewhat on topic. A few months ago I visited a local engine importer who was selling a complete VE swap (with trans, harness, ECU, MAF, intake, etc.). He wanted $1250 for the swap. I told him I wouldn't pay more then 1K but this was dependent on a flawless motor. He agreed (this was all done on the phone). So, I went down to the shop and had them compression test the engine. After 3 consecutive tests, the cyl. PSI was appx. 150 170 185 195 (1-2-3-4). The first two tests showed 120 and 135 PSI on cylinder #1. It also had a few broken sensors and the intake was not taped up and the throttle-body plate was stuck open. After all this, the tech. looked at me and said "so, do you want it?". I responded with "sure, but not for 1K, what's ur best offer?" I would have paid $600 for the engine and just refreshed it. He said "I already told you, the price is 1K!". Needless to say, I left.

The moral of the story? That engine is still for sale. They know it is down on compression, they know it has broken IACV sensor plugs and the harness is not fully intact, yet they still have it listed for sale at $1250. It has been for sale for a few months now. That same company has many bad reviews on the internet. Bottom line is, they don't care!

Here is a link to the add. I meant to post this up a while back but I forgot. Buyer beware when purchasing this engine!

Looks clean, right? Looks can be deceiving.

Sorry if I strayed too much off your topic.
