Some apartment will not sign or receive packages. when this happens ups and fedex with throw your shipment in the bushes if your lucky.[/QUOTE]
Wow you couldnt be more wrong. I got hurt at fedex and was a driver there for 2 years.
This is what i have to say to people, MAKE A SIGNITURE REQUIRED FOR EVERYTHING, we always say at fed ex, the people who dont ship with a signiture are idiots. Fed ex policy (same for ups) if no sig is required, we can leave at any spot that is safe, your front door, your back, And if you dont require a in person signiture at THAT address, we can get a indirect signiture at one of your neighbors house.
Aparments are the worst, THE WORST. Alot of apartment complex offices will NOT accept packages, because as soon as they do they are RESPONSIBLE for them. And they dont want to be responsible for someone else's packages half the time.
Ive had people try to say DOZENS of times a package wasnt delivered, and guess where 90% of the locations were ? Apartments. You leave at the door, and a neighbor swipes it, ive seen ipod's get swiped that way. Thats why i said, pay the extra money and make a signiture required.
Cuz heres the kicker for you guys, Alot of fed ex drivers when they deliver to apartments, they take pictures of the door number and package by the door to have proof, i did, and every time a complaint came in i had picture proof.
Now if the product was swiped, and made it there, thats the buyers responsibility if the shipper offers signed shipping, but doesnt take it. Now, if the shipper doesnt offer any other kind of shipping other than no signiture deliveries, it would still fall on the the buyer, live in a safer area. If the product came through the warehouse, got loaded on the truck, then it was delivered. Live in a safer area if you dont pay extra for signitures.
Sorry for the rant, but i get tired of people slamming ups, and fed ex drivers as per being lazy. We have our rules, Ever try delivering 150 stops for 200 packages 5 days a week? Going into business's going in skyscrapers, going to aparment complexes, going to gated comunities, dealing with traffic, needing special codes to access certain buildings, keys and keycards ? Its alot of work, harder than most peoples jobs, I blew out my back deliverying 12 95lb boxes at a stop that i only had to walk 15 feet. We work in over 100 degree weather, and snow storms, and put up with assholes that search for you because they cant "find" their package by their front door because they didnt look. Or getting attacked by peoples dogs, or having dogs prevent you from making a delivery.
But most likely, hes LYING, or someone stole it form his door. The lying and theft are the top 2 issues. Customers lie alot about not getting a package, its so funny.
