Thread: Help ! brake bleeder valve seized

tried to do the rear right but the damn 10 mm bleeder got stripped , i applied some pb blaster on it but it won't budge and was too seized to get a grip , is there another way to bleed the brakes?

Give it a couple quick taps on top with a hammer then grab some vice grips. If you do get it loose replace the bleeder, if not I use a vac pump on the master cylinder, if you have one layin around.

x2 on the vise grips, I've done that before with success. The PB working its way in there should help. Just make sure to really clamp down hard on the grips before you try removing the nut.

I pretty much always soak them in PB,then use mini vice grips to break them free just to be safe so they dont get stripped. Then use a wrench from there to finish the job...same thing on the master cyl.

just quick Q , just wanted to check , what size are for the front and rear valves?

Penetrating oil, tap tap tap with hammer, vise grips and turn sloooooowly. Also turn back and forth, not just loosen.

UPDATE : Brakes bled ! bought some vice grips and finally bled the brakes , bad news i need new bleeder valves after using the grips on all them , so anyone that reads this , you may want to get 4 new valves , i didn't since idk when i'll bleed them again , but next time i think imma have to get new valves.



also i didn't know i had to bleed the clutch from here , i was under my car looking for a slave cylinder around the tranny and finally looked up for an FSM and it says this . looks like it right next to the engine?

Also I would start off with a quick soak of whatever penetrant you prefer and then try a proper line wrench. Since I bought my set I haven't had any issues.
