I realize this is an old thread now but what do people have against the RR K-sports (the ones specific for road racing and not the cheaper off-the-shelf street stuff)

I have never had that model.

Re: Suspension - Today's Options for a Road Course B13?
I've been running the 2nd Gen K-Sports with the black housings for over 2 years on the track in DE4 & Time Attack and they have survived everything that I've thrown at them without issues of any kind. Can only imagine the RR K-Sports will be even more of an improvement since they're more suited for track use with spring rates & valving that can handle even more abuse than the street K-Sports. You can also order custom spring rates for either version

^ person who bought our B13 Sentra Track car just purchased them (the RR version) to replace the Progress coilovers we had on the car so I'll be very curious to hear how he likes it!

I have those K-sports. I love them, 36 way adjustable, I remember when AGX's were 4 way and 8 way in the rear. Success so far

Mark, how did you get your car down to 2,000lbs? Do you have any interior photos?

Meh, those generic "36 way adjustable" dampers from Taiwan that everybody sells have maybe 4-5 positions that make an actual difference in the damping. I've seen dyno plots where the first 20 clicks up from full soft made literally no difference, and the range of adjustment over the last ~16 or so was about the same as an AGX.

Technically, they are only 1 way adjustable, with 36 settings.

Its not just that, its also the ease of adjustment. AGX's you had to stick your hand through the back wheels, or carry a tiny screwdriver around. Im not saying that going from setting 12 to 14 makes a difference but 12 to 24 surely does a little. I mean even my g/f who doesn't even know what suspension is or does, or what a muffler is, thought she needed new blinker fluid when I told her she did (really) - made a comment about the car riding different when I was usually rolling around town on 6 and 10 in the rear and went to 24 and 30.

How do you adjust the K sports?

You just turn the dial on top of the strut. It's like this pin with a round handle. Here's a pic of my engine, look at the center of the strut towers, its that orange thing, you just turn it right to stiffen, left to soften.
