how thick of spacer to use with 17x7.5 205/40/r17 tire to not rub strut
i found a cheap set of wheels locally. they are rota tamac 1 17x7.5 tires are 205/40/r17 the front tires went on without a hitch and cleared the struts and dont rub no problem. however the back do not they are hitting the strut when mounted. so i need to pick some spacers up to emlininate this problem. however i am unsure about how thick of spacer i need. and on top of that if i use a spacer will i need longer wheel studs?

i picked up the wheels and tires on the cheap and they turned into a money pit fast should have known better.

Take a good look and measure how much is need it to clear the strut. Like its shown in this link Wheel Spacers: What Size? Once you have number is going to be easier to know what of a spacer to buy and there is a conversion of mm to inches. With that you can have a better idea of what type of spacer to buy. Referring towards the stud some spacers come with studs like shown in the spacer in the link, if you go with the spacer that don't have the studs and it turns out to push the wheel a lot out then yes I recommend getting longer studs. But if not then no need. Just measure with the numbers you got where the wheel will kind of be sitting and measure the stud and that way you have a better idea if you need longer studs. Math is never wrong. Check this spacers:

Make sure you search for 4x100 spacers and the thickness. There are a lot of spacer that also are adapter to got from like 4x100 to 4x114 and many other to choose make sure you get 4x100 to 4x100.

It depends on your offset. On the back of my car I have a 10mm spacer and the offset was +42 with a 16x7 215/45/16
