I m thinking it might be the bushing on the rear of the control arm. The one that shape like a loaf of bread.

The bearing is what is supposed to turn instead of your spring coils mostly while stopped or slowly moving. If the bearing is bad it will make a pop that sounds higher up, from the strut towers
