Wayne, I have personally done 20+ wheel bearings with this shop press:
12 Ton Shop Press

I have a pretty good method and if you decide to do it yourself, pm me and I will give you my number and talk you through it. All in all, wheel bearing parts will run you around $100 for the bearings and inner and outer seals.

A 6 ton H frame works well (I bought mine from Summit racing looks the same as the HF but its black) with the bearing set HF sells in a separate kit. I have the Napa bearings and dust covers the $50 dollars ones not the $25 junk bearings they sell. I have used the press on 2 bearings and it has payed for itself and then some.

I had to go to the dealer for mine, after both a bad hub, which got replaced, and a $40 bearing that failed after only 7k.
Dealer was like $100 which is too much but i needed it, im sure its much cheaper online.

I have never had an issue with my wheel bearings and I am going 170k all the way around. Do you guys roll your cars around with no axles or something?

^^^ Yup^^^^ gotta be the only reason. If you have old axles, just hammer off the outer CV and use that when you gotta roll or store a chassis around for a while. It works and will save your bearings.

Did you go used hub's?

I didn't know that... I might have to look into that actually. Does it come with the dye's to press?

Wayne, you know I still have the used pass side of my partout ,but you know thats a chance. It is all together and spins freely if you are interested, gimme a call.

Also,I have a press like the ones posted. If you have a harbor freight store near you ,I can send you a coupon for 20% off any one item.It has to be used in store, not online. You CAN use the coupon on sale items, too.
I was just at HF Friday locally, and that press is on sale right now for like 99 bucks,IIRC.It doesnt come with the dyes, just the plates you see in the pics.
Thats what I do.I wait for the item to go on salre than go use a coupon.I have a bunch of them
This is how I got my press and my sandblaster.
Saved a bunch on each one by being patient.

^this. Also, if you look in the papers & other magazines (especially the automotive selection) then you can find a 10-20% coupon for harbor freight.

Cheers!
