Thread: B13 Maxima Rear Brakes D/S Question

So I need the bracket that holds the caliper, the caliper, rotors, and pads?

Honestly, my real question is: Will these (Links below) work if they are re-drilled to 4x100? First of all, would that even be possible on this rotor?

Secondly, they aren't drum and hat are they? From the pic it sure as hell looks like they could be.

Third, would this be worth it if I got AD22VFs up front, D/S rotors, and EBC redstuff pads all around?

Lastly, I thought the 95 Maxima SE rear rotor was a solid rotor with no venting. In the pics in this auction, they show a vented rotor. Could this possibly be a universal picture they use?

1) Drilled rotors are not what you want at all. Don't get those stupid rotors. Get the correct rotors from Greg Vogel at GSpec Performance. They will be the right 4 x 100 and you can have them slotted if you want. Don't do drilled!

3) Yah it's worth it to get the AD22VFs up front (not drilled!). With the rear brake upgrade don't forget the Altima master cylinder, also from Greg Vogel. I don't know much about EBC Red Stuff pads so I can't comment. I like Hawk HPS for the front and stock or similar for the rears.

4) Yes, that is absolutely some bullshit universal picture they are using. Yes the Maxima rotors in the rear are non-vented. Again, don't buy those stupid rotors.

Why do you say drilled is bad and to only get slotted?

Not to thread jack but can you run the Altima MC with OEM brakes in hope to upgrade to AD22's later w/ max rears?

Drilled has a greater tendency to lead to cracking with too much heat. One of the reasons to go with larger rotors is to increase the heat capacity of the brakes. If you want a nice look, go with slotted. I'm with Ben on this one. Stay away from cheap, drilled rotors.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing now. I feel dumb though cause I learned some more about hydraulics and I actually DECREASED the braking force by doing the MC upgrade without the NX2k and Maxima brakes.

I was just looking on gspec.com at his rotors... Holy hell they're expensive rotors! Like 400 just for front and rear rotors. Might as well get a BBK for that price.

No need with the stock system. The reason to upgrade is so you can retain balanced brake bias using stock Nissan parts.

Let's say I bought cheap eBay rotors, but I only get them slotted. Would that be safer?
