Correct. Without the shortened struts, 1.5" is the max you should lower using the GC sleeves. In the rear you have 3" travel from the factory. Lowering 1.5" gives you only 1.5" of travel left. That's the thinking behind that limitation.

i don't want to go lower than 1.5 lol actually the way the rm springs have the car sitting in the rear i would love to have the front sit the same way..but these damn fender lines lol i mean if you look at the car it is a level drop all around but the front fender line creates the illusion that it's sitting higher in the front

Yes you do.

Exactly. To make the front look like the rear you need much more than a 1.5" drop.

Yep. The fender arches are different heights and that is what creates the illusion. Not much can be done about that.

As it is, those Road Magnets lower the front 1.25" and the rear 1" (Gen II specs, Gen I specs are 1.5" drop in front, 1" drop in rear). So you're already almost at the limit you can drop the front. You want another inch I think or more based on what I'm hearing. That's not gunna happen properly without shortened struts.

Is this the look you want?

I know it is an NX, and if you want to see the EXACT same setup on a B13 search for Bennitto Malito's posts (Ben's screen name is something like that).

That setup is basically lowered 1.5" with a slight rake to it (b/c I like that look). Lowered that amount, and it still has stock suspension travel. Here is my build thread: click My setup is over the top for a street car, but the general idea still works (using coilovers and CSK's).

If you want lower than RM will get, and still have a decent ride; then you really need to look at GC with CSK or the Progress setup. Neither are cheap, but it will get you what you want. RM and AGX is a good street setup, but I would not try to "fix" something that was properly engineered (drop, spring rate, etc) since it could turn out incorrectly.

Here is my idea to fix your backwards rake: get a couple spacers from Energy Suspension or something and put them under your rear springs only. That will raise the rear up slightly (depending on the thickness) and you will generally have the look you want, a decent street suspension, and you didn't screw anything up.

My $0.02.

Put jugs and liter bottles of water in strategic places all throughout the engine bay.
Done!

I just tried to find something like that but didn't find anything except this:

Mr. Gasket 1287 - Mr. Gasket Super Coil Spring Spacers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Is that what you're talking about? Will that be a safe thing to do? That would give an extra inch of rear travel in the suspension, or would pairing that with red CSK's in the rear be a bad idea?

Link those are the ES ones. $10 per pair. They have some listed for Nissans (verify the dimensions) that are 1/4" thick. That is probably enough to get it darn close to level - worst case you could probably do 2 sets (1 on top and 1 on bottom). I've never used these, but $20 to experiment slightly is better than buying rear springs for the front, etc.

Extra travel in the rear isn't really an issue unless you are talking about the rally-x guys. Front travel is the issue generally.

Anybody have a set of hyperco gen II's laying around who can measure the inner and outer diameters of the springs? They are the same size as OEM, right? If so, how about OEM spring measurements?

hm..so if i wanted to i can request the coilover sleeves stiffer than the rm's correct ? also they do give me and adjustable height option ?

Yes, you can get different spring rates, and yes, the coilovers allow you to adjust the ride height.
