Thread: Non GC coil sleeves with Eibach springs

I *think* that problem was in the struts sir.

With CSK's, most folks run conventional Hyperco or RM springs which are 300/200 (give or take). With CSK's and GC coilover sleeves folks usually start at about that rate (f/r) and go up in spring rate.

Although going down in spring rate has a certain appeal for street use. I would never go stiffer than my Hyperco's, and am buying CSK's because I want a smoother less-harsh ride. It ain't my Hyperco's (300f/200r progressive rate) that are too harsh, it is my current AGX dampers. Plenty of folks (like Benito above...) assure me that with CSK's (and my uber-braced chassis) I could go stiffer on the springs, but I am an old-man and will keep my "low" spring-rate Hyperco's, thank you very much.

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

You could also try every frame-stiffener available. We have a bunch of options on FSTB, RSTB, IKEA brace, foaming, fender braces, etc.... All of which would help smooth out your ride as well without having to sacrifice spring rate.

No, am I right on the struts being the probable "harshness" issue on the Doctors previous experience with coil-overs? I'm *guessing* the Doc's previous dampers sucked.

I know what you think of progressive vs. linear springs, and that you think I can go stiffer on my springs when I go CSK (given my chassis mods). But I will willingly sacrifice some "10/10th's track competence" for "street comfort." It is a compromise for street duty, which is my usual domain. I'll take "excellent" on the street, and "good on the track" instead of vice-versa.

i run 325front and 300lbs hyperco gen 2 front springs in the rear. It works out well. But Also depending on how low the front of your car is Id go stiffer then 325 in the front if you dont like scraping on bumps. Our suspension setup on these cars isnt the greatest due to our strut not being able to travel over alot of distance. The lower you go the MORE spring rate your gonna need because you dont want the car crashing on the bump stops or the front of the car being able to bounce to much making the front end scrape on dips.

I am running E-Bay sleeves with Blue Coil springs on the track car .... ( 400lb/350lb / AGX's ) no issues yet , have about 6 track days on the setup ...Came out to about $100 less than the same GC setup ...

^^^Could you post a link of the springs you're using?

I bet they're Hypercoil. Eibach and Hypercoil are basically the two choices in 2.5" dia springs for coilovers.

AFAIK, Hypercoils cost a little more. ?
