Thread: Brake pad contact?

New caliper and rotor. I replaced a sticking rotor/caliper. Why is it not making full contact?

I am assuming these are nx2000 brakes.

If the pad is wearing to the edge of the rotor (and past) this is exactly what happened to me when I had the wrong size rotors.

I didn't even realize until 3 years had passed, when my brakes started making the worst sound and the pad was about to fall out of the caliper.

Those are the rear rotors. Same as SE-R brakes.

Is the top of the pad off the rotor?

I gotta check tomorrow.

I just looked, they are both ADh7A, but the right one seems to hang a little higher than the left. The outline from the old caliper is on the shim, and it seems sit a tab bit higher. And visually when I look where the tips of the U end on the front of the caliper, it sits higher above the tip of the spring clip on the top of the pad. Is this normal?

Just took off the wheel and looked at the caliper. The sliding pins are bent. What would cause that?
Fixed now..
