need advice before installing new shocks!

I must change all 4 shocks on my '91 Sentra SE-R. My car's suspension is nonstock. This means that suspension is lowered. I wanna know if the shocks are different for a low suspension??? My uncle donated me the shocks. So, I wanna be sure before I install them...

HELP PLEASE... A.S.A.P.

"nonstock" what is differant? what springs are on the car? what struts are you installing? what is the condition of the rest of you suspension?
