No, It's a good thing and you get more suspension travel. Our cars need it, it's a must!!!

Common knowledge to use B13 fronts on the B14 for more travel! People have been doing this for years!

If it's common knowledge why isn't it in the big suspension thread? It should be.

I have this same question. I'm building a set of csk yellows and sourced two sets of front housings. One off a b14 and one off a b13 that were not stock. They (the b13's) were blue with an oval (adjustable?) top hole where it attaches to the hub and an extra tab with two bolt holes near the bottom. I'm guessing the oval hole is a good thing? Any ideas what struts these were?

My question is
Are the b13 and b14 strut housings the same? What was said here so far makes me think that the b13 is shorter which makes it good on to use on a b14 but would be a problem if reversed. ie b14 housing on a b13 = 1 inch less suspension travel.

Correct? (I have a b13)

On a CSK it o ly makes a difference of you are using conventional springs.... If you are then use B13 housings. It is not critical to use them as the shortened housings largly offset the difference!

This knowledge is VERY old. I believe this was discovered almost 10 years ago. I bought my first set of AGX's in 1999 and I used B13 fronts..... IIRC the location of the perch also contributed to the difference in length.

Someone tell Shawn B so he can add it. I know on the orignal forum this can easily be found by searching.

You just told me.

Searching? What is that?

I'll go dig around and add this to my next round of updates. I have no idea how I missed this information or it did not register in my little brain.

Correct me if I am wrong....(you are stating...)....

1) A B13 Front AGX is one inch (1") shorter than a B14 Front AGX strut.

2) On a B14: Use/purchase the B13 Front AGX's, with regular B14 rear AGX's, if your application includes utilizing conventional springs (OEM, RM, Hyperco).

Did I get that right?

I'll go look up the old threads, no problems there. However, I want to make sure I understand the correct basic concept before confusing myself (it happens regularly) with my search results.

Thanks for your expertise and input Wes.
