Tire Size Options
I have a 15x8 rim and I'm trying to find a semi-beefy tire.

205/50/15 seems to have a stretch to it.

I was wondering if I should go with a 225/50/15 instead.

Question is will it throw off the speedometer/will it fit properly?

I run a 225/50/15 tire on my stock b14 wheels. My speed is about 1mph faster then what speedometer says(confirmed via GPS). There's a chart somewhere on the board w/exact figures.

I want to say stock b14 is 15x8.5?? I don't remember.

205 will (at least) look horrible on a 15 x 8

Everyone who sees my car thinks the 205/50's look great on my 15x8 6UL's and I agree:

Yes. Absolutely. Better yet, get a 225/45/15 like I did.

For speedo questions, see here:
Tire size calculator

Or here:
Wheel / tire size calculator / comparer - WHEELSMASTER

With the right offset/spacers and some fender rolling in the rear it should fit just fine.
Pics of 225/45/15 on 15"x7" wheels can be found here:

Teasers:

I never thought the 205s looked like they were stretched at all on my 15x7 wheels until I saw how straight the shoulder was on these 225s.
