More information please on the "flammable" statement. Links, and further clarification. It makes
absolutely no sense to me.
They use one of the
exact products I used, Handi-Foam, in the "Authorized Body Repair" instructions for Infinity vehicles. Handi-Foam is sold (in a bit larger sized container) to truck manufacturers to utilize in their fleet vehicles. Mazda uses a two-part catalytic foam in the RX8 chassis. Mike Kojima (ChoaderboyII) used the product in his personal, outrageous 300ZX Turbo project.
After Mike (a brilliant engineer himself) discussed the foam with the SAE engineer at HandiFoam. The SCC guys (not exactly stupid) just did their S13 project in one of the last several issues of the magazine.
It may indeed be flammable at some temperature. However, it damn sure passed by some stringent, crazy-smart, engineers (Mazda, Infinity) who are well aware of Law Suits if their vehicles are overtly flammable in any way.
Therefore, I am utterly confused on the flammability statement.

Are you telling me they completely sealed up the frame rail (for instance), by seam welding it, they dumped in too much foam, and the rail exploded?
With no other facts, based upon your vague statements this is my only eductated theory...
The foam gets very hot when catalyzing, not hot enough to burn your hand, but hot enough to be uncomfortable. The foam also expands to a percentage of it's volume. You cannot overpour it into a sealed metal cavity, or it will burst the metal in question. Once a catalytic process begins, it ain't gonna stop just because it's in too small a space. If the metal burst, and the IDIOTS got splattered with hot foam, which would stick to their bodies much better than napalm, then I can possibly see how someone got hurt with the foam.

I have a "Table of Contents" of sorts, in my first post. I have a Linky to pretty much all my sources. Including the Stephens Fender Braces.
