I am looking into QA1 to see if we can make our own housings to accommodate koni yellows all the way around. All a housing is, is a cylinder with two mounting tabs and in some cases sway bar mounts. Let me see what this will cost us and see if it can be done. Cutting the factory housings is ok but if we are going to do production unite we might be able to set them up with springs and all. Let me see.

there is another guy on the forum that does just this. he builds his own housings but also installs threaded sleeves for ground controls. not sure if QA1 will be able to mimic the OEM spring perch, this is why the stock housings are used because there is less headaches involved. but if you plan on making true coilovers this is by all means the way to go!

I know that 3 years ago If I could have purchased a set of CSK's pre built I would have.
In a perfect world id love some done with Ground Control sleeves and springs all in one package. Keep it at a $1k or less and you would have a winner
Open box. Put on car. Done.

Im heading to the yard this weekend to pick up a set of fronts off a b13 and b14. I am reading a lot of posts on how much to actually remove from the housing to make the inserts work. At the same time Ill develop the camber plates for both cars.

This is not that difficult to do however definitely do a few test runs before you start selling. It takes that to get them perfect every time. Searching the forums will give you some details on how to install them, properly space the bottom etc....

As others have said there are a lot of options in terms of insert options and what people will want will depend on their goals in terms of spring rate and end use for the car. Proper understanding of these options and how they suit each application is crucial to get people proper setups!

I want them prebuilt by someone who knows exactly what they are doing. I will require them to be a 100% bolt-on part, no modifications needed on my end. Bolt on, adjust the valving appropriately, and then I don't want to have to mess with them. I have no interests in endlessly "fiddling" with my suspension.

Nor do I have any cores to be re-used. They will have to be sourced by myself or whomever is doing my work. I'd prefer the latter, and don't mind the expense. I want my CSK's to be "headache free" for me.

Assuming you can fulfill my requirements, I may just buy them from you.

Sean a word of caution..... Getting them built and looking nice is the easy part, setting the damping is a LOT more difficult and in all honestly is ONLY done 100% properly (and IMHO to your high standards) by a shop that has a shock dyno and your springs on hand. I have built plenty of Koni setups some just basic down to getting pretty crazy with my own personal setup, and I would gladly build them for you but would not be comfortable in setting them without having them on the car and adjusting them at a track day.

I say this not as a way of trying to build them for you, but rather to put in to light what it takes to have them set properly.
