I have built plenty of Koni setups some just basic down to getting pretty crazy with my own personal setup, and I would gladly build them for you but would not be comfortable in setting them without having them on the car and adjusting them at a track day.

I say this not as a way of trying to build them for you, but rather to put in to light what it takes to have them set properly.

Hmmmmm.....

So, when I purchase them, I have to have them professionally "dialed in"on a shock dyno, then get them adjusted on a track by a person with expertise, for my particular (Hyperco Gen II) springs?

Shouldn't there just be an "off the shelf settings" answer for Hyperco/Road Magnet springs? Ie...."If you have Hyperco's, set the fronts on X and the rears on Y" Is there some small variance between the strut inserts themselves or the springs themselves? If not, couldn't the "spring-dyno basic recommended settings" be run until I can get to Road America next year? Where one of you suspension gurus can do any final tweaking?

I do not have the "expertise" to dial-in anything suspension related. I am a total newb to such tweaking. I want to bolt it on, set it as recommended by forum experts, and forget it.

Otherwise....I need to purchase the CSK's, remove my Hyperco springs, bring the strut/spring assembly to a shock-dyno, have the struts set, then get an expert on a track to re-set/dial-in the struts based on track time and driving characteristics? Holy crap.

Surely not everyone jumped through all those hoops to get a set of CSK's on their vehicles?

The half off sale at the jy is this weekend not last so Ill be picking up a set for my B14 with a how to and pics.

I agree with Shawn if I had to go through all of tha I would just buy a set of B&G and let them tune them for free.

Wes,

Can you explain and clarify further?

What will be the results if I order a set of "CSK's built for B13 Hyperco's" (from someone who is building them correctly, the right insert, perch, etc....) and I just bolt them on, no spring dyno?

Further, couldn't "basic settings" be used on a daily driver, until someone smarter (experienced suspension guru) can "dial them in perfectly" at a track? I would only trust the Suspension-Brainiacs (like you, sir) from this forum on the proper tweaking, which means Road America next year.

Therefore, for a daily driver, can we get reasonably good results with properly built and installed CSK's, set to "forum recommended" settings in the front and back? Bolt on and go, until such time as an expert and track is available to sort out the settings perfectly?

I would *assume* that scenario cannot be any worse (sloppy?) than bolting on AGX/Hyperco and hitting the pavement. I did not test anything, bolted the suspension on, used a forum recommended setting on the AGX's, and have not touched them since.

Please let me know if I am logically *guessing* correctly.

i spoke with a Koni motorsports tech and he recommended a 3/4 turn on both the forn and rear recommended reds for the B14. If you call they will help you through any dillema

Brian,
I have 2 full sets of blown b13 struts here if you still need cores.

I agree with bluebomber in that I would begin with Koni's recommendation on settings based on what springs you are using. You will likely love them.... Then tweak from there on track.

What I am getting at is the complexity of suspension components. I would wager a LARGE amount of money that you could take 4 koni inserts (of the same part #) put them on a shock dyno and they would all be slightly different. Thus if you wanted to be anal to the umteenth degree you could say that the setup needs to go on a shock dyno.

95% or greater of us on the boards do not do this and we do exactly what your talking about Shawn, but again it doesn't mean there isn't room to get super detailed if we want too.

what if you dont have the OE stuff? (ksports)
Do the CSK's lower any or keep the stock ride height (or is that determined when they are being assembled?)
