Dre, here are a few quotes to get you up to speed. (You can click on the blue icon in the quotes to find out which posts they came from.)

Then in post #52 insane imports quoted me saying this (but didn't use the quote feature).

I blamed the sheered Nismo studs on that.
I broke so many I got off my ass and designed my own spacers. Just like you [Dre] they were made on a lathe from billet aluminum and are hubcentric, and hub continuing. They, just like yours, are extremely tight. They are tight on the hub, and the wheels are tight on the hub extension. That quote is from a completely different thread (the one where you and I went back and forth about wheels studs, again you can click the blue icon to get to it).
That's why I was confused about what washers he was talking about.
Then I made my statement about it not being a good idea. Just another one of those band-aids I've used so I could get home and drive. I was not expecting to need spacers after installing my front brakes and it took me by surprise. I was 1,000 miles from home and needed spacers fast. I bought cheap 10mm spacers and had to augment them with 2mm worth of washer. It actually worked well enough for a few years and probably would have continued to be okay, but I'm sort of a perfectionist and the engineer in me couldn't put up with it (and I was breaking wheel studs and thought this was the cause) so I replaced it with proper spacers. You know the story.
