Thread: Autocross Brake Pads wanted

Just ordered some new power slot rotors from greg V last week and the pads I got from him didn't work. I'm looking for something for my NX that won't chew up the rotors but has a high temp resistance. What are you guys running for pads? I use the car for a daily also so keep that in mind. I have been leaning tword the EBC pads maybe the green or red brand they offer for the Ad22's.

I use Hawk HPS on my B14.It's a daily driver and autocross car,and they work great.Tried Hawk HP+,and all I did was lock up and flat spot tires,and squeak like hell on the street.HPS provide great stopping with no lock-up,very little dust,no squeaking,and I've never overheated them.I'm using stock rotors,with stainless lines.Of course unless your hot lapping at an autocross,the brakes never really get that hot anyway.

thanks for the reply, I checked out hawk and they don't make any pads for the NX. Guess I will will try EBC pads.

I've used Axxis Ultimates with good success on both the street and the autocross tracks I've run. I've got a set new in my garage if you are interested. Do some research on them and pm me an offer if you are interested.

The pads for a sentra W/abs I think are the same as the AD22 pads. someone clarify?

I sell Hawk HPS for the NX calipers. You gotta shave the ears in the inside with a small file and it fits in the caliper.

This is what I did and they work pretty well but how well they will work depends on the track.

I used Carbotech Bobcats (which are called something else now and I'm too lazy to look it up) for stuff like that. Didn't need a lot of heat to grab, but would hold up to a lot of braking.

These days I'm running AX8s and AX10s, but that's for stage rally and they need a lot of heat before they really start to work. Most "race" pads will be like that, and no too effective for autox, so stick with "street performance" pads.

I would have went with the carbotech but they are a little pricey. I just got the EBC green stuff pads from greg.

They are worth it.
