you could always buy $60 in parts and solder up your own basic

Unless you have a Chip burner, and a data logging cable it's not worth the hassle of going the chipped ecu route.

It's a huge learning curve and without the right tools can lead to a blown motor..

Trust me when I tell you this from experience, you will appreciate an RT ecu far more.. I'd recommend saving your coins for a Nismotronic and being done with it all!

Only issue with Nismotronic is that it's OBD1 and my car is OBD2..and I live in NY..just don't want to deal with switching everything over twice a year for emissions

I see, not sure of the requirements but a step down harness wouldn't work and get you through emissions?

You aren't turbo so passing emissions shouldn't be too difficult!

Otherwise you'd be looking at Nistune!

I just want to keep it simple..no crazy this that or the other thing..just want to get the power out of the mods that I have and just drive the car and enjoy it lol

If you are keeping the mods the same from here on out a Basic will work. It might cost more to tune since it takes longer but after that you would be done. If you plan on making any changes I would go with the Nistune for realtime tuning. It will save you in the long run.

I ideally am going to go to a big bore high comp VE down the line..so I guess Nistune is the way to go? Do they make an OBD2 ecu?
