I sent Nagano USA a Email and also a message through ebay:

We are contacting you to follow up on auction #151319633422. It was a Avenir W11 engine advertised 180PSI, 45k miles and tested. We contacted you before we bid and paid to make sure the engine was 180PSI and tested fully and you responded that it was. We tested the engine multiple time and also had a certified Toyota tech come over and retest the engine. It did not pass compression or leak down tests. We do not believe that we are responsible to pay the return shipping of $234.16 for your error. It should have been tested and checked which it obviously was not.

I'm going to see how they handle it. I guess if they don't respond and ignore me I'll have to use negative feedback, BBB complaint, and send all of this info down to the Missouri attorney general and see if they will take action against this company.

Actually they have completely ignored me. I sent that message to their Email and through ebay and have had no response. I'm glad you asked about it because I forgot to leave feedback and need to get started writing up complaints against them. Been really busy between work and changing the engines out on 2 cars....

I can onyl imagine that being a giant PITA. Glad i could remind you but I sure hope you come out on some sort of winning end on this deal. Having them ignore you is very annoying. I went through the same thing with that shit company OBX. I called a phone number I found on BBB website and spoke to one guy who claimed to pay himself and his is own boss. He was rather argumentative and not willing to help me out at all so I got stuck with a bum piece. A header I bought from them brand new had holes where the flange meet the primaries. I saw this before I installed and got no where fast. I'll have my friend weld it up nice, nice. But your situation had a few parallels, I want to see you come out winning because it sure does suck losing.

...sounds to me like this business needs to be reported to the BBB at the very least!

Interestingly enough, ebay policy is about to change Sept 15th where sellers have to pay for return shipping when 'not as described'

For a situation like this, it weeds out the bad businesses like this but it also opens up the field to more scammers so we'll see what happens with it all.

Oh, for those who haven't read it yet, the changes to seller accounts also state that when a buyer files 'not as described' that ebay is authorized to take funds from your linked bank account to refund the buyer AND ebay may also decide that it does not have to be returned (and that ebay can take return postage funds from your linked paypal bank account)

^ so it should be very interesting what happens with ebay in the near future! It gets better for buyers but also potentially shittier for sellers like me who have been reverse scammed a few times already!
