i THINK when doing a leak down you can only do 2 cylinders at a time, maybe 3? i forget which ones.. when i was testing the engines we have on hand i found that if i didnt rotate the engine for a few of the cylinders it would show terrible leak down an u could hear air coming outta the exhaust valves... once rotated it would seal up tho.. giver a try if u didnt..

I cranked the engine by hand on every cylinder for the test. Also did the leak down 3 times to make sure it was consistent.

You were on the compression stroke? The easiest way is to is the remove the dizzy cap and when the rotor points the plug wire you are at tdc for that cylinder.

This is why I'm glad I have importers local. I would return that engine due to how the head looks alone. I hope they do the right thing. If not then bash them with the BBB and in every car forum,Facebook. Then build the motor.

Lynch, I don't think you are helping by confusing him. When doing a leakdown test, you want to hand crank each cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke. This mean one cylinder at a time. When you are suggesting "i THINK when doing a leak down you can only do 2 cylinders at a time, maybe 3?", one cylinder would be at TDC and the other would be at BDC. Because the cylinders are at different positions you will get different readings. For consistency, each cylinder has to be at the same crank position, TDC compression.

Tiger Japan messed me up one time. They didnt even ship the right engine (sr18) and refused to say they were at fault. If the company isn't American, you cant do anything legally except agree with their terms, or keep the junk. You really should name the company before they get away with screwing someone over again. They know what they are sending people, and screw them over more often than not
