GTI-R ECU to SR20de
Currently I'm having all stock DE on my b13.. currently having 4-1 headers with 2" exhaust pipe.

Just want to know what is first step to upgrade for my engine..

Just wondering is it possible to use GTIR maf and ECU on a SR20DE?..

or I'm planning to raise the rev limiter...

My friend told me to have a wideband and SAFC.. or what about having a instant JWT G20 ecu? but not sure if it would be comptible I'm having a high port DE...

GTI-R is boosted, why would you think to use that ecu on a stock B13

I think the first step for any upgrade would be to read the miles of typing in all of the threads on this subject. I promise all of your answers are there. It just takes a bit of searching. After you have read alot, and searched more come back and ask an educated question. I've asked a few questions myself, but not before searching my ass off, and sifting through the threads. Doing this I'm able to find 99.999% of all the answers I need for any subject. Just do a little homework man, It'll pay off big. The info on this forum is how I know so much about SR20 powered vehicles.

Gtir ecu dosnt work on all motor engines.. Timing maps are
Diferents and to low. And some other stuff

Hi dude, first of all you should read some of the threats, here, investigate a little, i think even there is one HKS tunning manual for newbies or something link that, thrust me i started there...

After you search a little you will have a better understanding of what your engine needs and then you can ask a question and back it up with good knowledge.

Now if your engine is stock you can start by giving it more air to the intake and then to let it exhaust more air. in other words a 3" intake with filter and a 2.5" exhaust or even a 3" exhaust depending on what you want.

Remember from the "Born to Race" movie: "its one thing to understand how to bolt perfomance part into your engine, and is another thing entirely to understand how they all work together".

thanks on your advise ivan.. I agree on what you said. I make a lot of search I almost finish to read all the threads from this section just at least to get some more ideas. Which I don't know where to start to do the ugprades. Anyway I have work on the IHE like now currently i have 4-1 headers with 2" pipe.. I'm still finding some good CAI.. to fit on my highport engine... maybe right now i will more focus on bolt on parts and have a good tires...

For example, i started with a WAI, then i had to change my clutch so i upgraded it. Then i put a 2.5" exhaust, and now that the engine was breathing well i instaled the highport cams and a ECU. You should start by giving your engine a good maintenance then it will provide better numbers with every mod you do.

I sugest you start with the CAI and then put a bigger exhaust as a 2" exhaust is just .25 inches bigger than stock. not pretty helpfull...

BTW, GTiR ECU wont work as it is for boosted engines, also those engines compression ratio is too low compared to your engine, and also i think that the pinout of the ECU is diferent?

Pinout is not different, the only difference is the resistors in line for the injectors and the wires going to the TPS need to be switched all easy things to do/correct. I dont see why you couldnt run a GTI-R ecu with the right injectors and MAF. Compression is not equated into the Fuel maps. Essentially all the GTI-R is, is a hopped up SR20. Fuel delivery is based on the metered air coming in. In theory there shouldnt be an issue. It wont raise the REV limit safely tho. The higher rev limit is accessible by not just the ECU but the difference in the GTI-R valve train as well. Timing will probably be an issue, but you can probably play with that.
