I am sure the flow rates are different for each pump at different RPM's.

I don't know.

I'd bet on a DE pump with a larger pulley... but what do i know?

I compared my RR to my VE and old DE and they were different. The old DE was different but the RR and VE were exactly the same. You could easily shave the blades down a bit if you wanted to. Not really worth it, but you could if you were really good.

Im running a 16ve pump.

Car wont see over 9k. The shorter blades should do fine

Stratton.

Sorry to bump a slightly old thread here, but what is the conclusion wrt the pumps? I ordered a N1 pump assuming it was better, but now that I have it in my hands I see the tiny blades. And then came accross this tread.

Should I run it on my built VE that sees high rpm (+/-9k give or take 500rpm) often? My understanding is that it will cavitate less and therefore flow better at higher rpm, but will it still cool the motor sufficiently during regular street driving and the odd traffic jam or while sitting at the red lights?

I think you can put your N1 pump, the issue is that if you combine it with a underdrive pulley you will have heating issues on low rpms... so its either the N1 pump or the underdrive pulley, but not both...

Isn't the VE pulley the same size as a UR wp pulley anyways, or is it just the N1 pulley?

The OEM N1 pulley is an under drive pulley, and the N1 water pump is the same as the other VE water pumps, the difference is the pulley.
