oh SHAT! trouble code
Just swapped same year engine from 01 b15 5 sp. into a 01 b15 auto (not a 5 sp swap, JUST the sr20 motor itself)

now I'm getting the error p0335 and p1336.

My question is this:

Does it matter how a flywheel is bolted onto the engine?

also worth mentioning, is my idle goes up to 1800-2100, then drops to 1400 for a second, then climbes back up to 1800-2100, then drops to 1400. It never does come down all the way to 800/850.

Input please

auto and manual have different crank sensors.....you don't have a flywheel, you have a flex plate. where is the sensor mounted, on the trans itself? What do you mean, does it matter how the flywheel is bolted to the engine, what ? do you have? If you are using the same crank sensor, check the wiring and the pins in the plug.

The transmission didnt change, nor did the crank sensor.

sorry, I meant flexplate.

the sensor is mounted on the trans, yes.

does it matter how the flexplate is mounted (I didnt pay attention to how i took it off, and just mounted it and bolted it to the new engine). the wirign looks ok, i will go through the fsm, I just wanted to know if I fukt myself by mounting the flexplate incorrectly!

I think I have one at my parents house but I won't be going there until the weekend, I can look at it and tell you for sure whether you can mount it incorrectly. if you take a pic of each side of the flexplate and an on top view of the teeth I could help you.

wish I could, but it's in the car, with a transmission running on it what i really meant is if i rotated it incorrectly. I can actually only mount it one way or the tq converter doesn't mount, but that's not to say i didnt put it at 10 oclock when it's supposed to be at 2.

alright, so I pulled the crankshaft position sensor as requested by the fsm and measured the two posts on it, there was infinate resistance at 65F as mentioned in the fsm - need to be replaced (I hope that's what's causing the code!!!!)

I would try swapping crank sensors with a known good one, did you mark where the converter was when you un-bolted it?

I think you've found the problem canx2k.
No, there's no wrong degree for mounting the flex plate.

I have never done an auto swap on an sr20, some vehicles do need to be marked when you un-bolt the torque converter. Get your self a crank sensor and drive.
