I have a SR20VE project going on alreay if you see my signature. But, I always wanted to build a NA DE too.

DE setup im going to do now for my N/A hillclimb car:

JDM 10:1 CR DE
JWT S4 cams
Calum Basic ECU with tune
Charles 4-2-1 header
2.5" exhaust
HotShot CAI

I want 190-200ps at crank and 200-215Nm. Will see at Spring.

Nice mods. I'd like to see some pics of your setup as well. If your not already a member register over on g20.net.

So stroking is not worth the money/trouble? We are going to freshen up the engine anyway with new pistons, gaskets, etc.

I think its not worth the money.. if you are going to rebuild it, throw in SR16VE pistons with support mods:

BC stg3 cams
BC s/r kit
Cam gears
N60 MAF
Thermoblok spacer kit
3" intake
333cc or similar injs
2.5" exhaust or bigger
SSAC or Charles 4-2-1 header

Thats almost what Robchaos done in his HCR build. 190whp with right tuning.

^wouldnt he get like 15-20 more whp if he used a 4-1 header over the 4-2-1 header???

I think you have a high hp ve build in the works and if anything your de will fall short of the ve power and you will be left disappointed. Get yourself an sr20det throw in some s4 cams, injectors, 16lbs of boost, and you'll be moving. Thats just what I would do (i just built the turbo motor before the ve)

The 11:1 ( 300Z NA Pistons ) SR20DE I built made 180WHP ... S4 cams , JWT ECU, PS Header , CAI , Light flywheel and pulleys through a cat and 2.25" exhaust ... a few more tweaks, better header , no cat , larger exhaust and mabie some mild port work and I dont see why 200WHP would not be possable ....

Yea, it was a fun one ... but never seemed like enough ....Turbo DE is on the list next ....

I already got a stock SR20VE header, way better then the stock De unit

We are still unsure of wich cams to put in (along with some stronger valve springs of course). Also, if we should keep the stock internals or stroke it. From what I understand, a stroker kit is no good for a high-revving engine?

Any ideas?

No need to sleeve, or even touch most internals. If you want 200crank that's like 165 wheel. Get a VE intake manifold, s4 or better cams, a properly made 4-1 header and some tuning and you are there.

Yea what he said Or just save time and money and get a VE.
