I think in all fairness we should all be at road course day even if we are not participating to give support to our fellow SR members this is about convention and all of us coming together not Nissan day at e town if this offends anyone I apologize !

Does not offend me in anyway, I agree that we should be there as a community.

Thanks Joe (happynole) for that clarification. Seems somewhat different that what this community has had in the past.
In my humble, nearly worthless opinion....I really don't believe many, many of us need to go back to driving school. I've seen some pretty darn good track drivers at these events.

I do not recall an exact amount for a track day, since it's been awhile since the community had one. Wasn't the event in ATL something like $150...Joe? and no school...? Wow, prices are certainly expensive up there in Yank-Land. I would again (guess) that there aren't a large part of this community is going to pay $400 for school and some driving for one day. Maybe i'm wrong.

Thanks to the folks that attempt to organize and keep alive these events...It's a good effort.

So you bash 2015 cause there was no track day, and now bash 2016 cause it's too expensive and drivers have to go to a quick school session?

I respect the rules of the NJMP.

I don't argue that they want an instructor next to you while piloting a 2000 pound machine fully capable of harming you, yourself, and others. I understand that risk each time I plant my ass into the seat.

I can prove myself and have no worries.

quick school session....? surely you jest. Come on. We LOVE to be on the track. and to have any more than a few mins of schooling isn't what I would like to see for exp'd drivers... Anyone disagree???

It's a humble, worthless opinion my friend. That's what I clarified up front. OPINION. Now you want to confront me? I seriously doubt you would be so hostile if you were standing right next to me.

In reality, do you really think the people that actually have worthy track cars would spend $400....and then have to go to some class for X amount of hours?
If you have actually had your vehicle on one of these tracks you would fully understand. and if don't, you should. Most of the folks i have experienced at these events are intermediate or expert....sure there is a few beginnings and YES, they should have ground school. But NOT someone that has had 10-20 years of experience. That's ridiculous.

We are all entitled to our opinion here folks....it's a public forum. I am not a little pussy kid that keeps my opinion to myself. I'm older than a great deal of y'all. If something isn't right, I say so. Sometimes it may appear I am bashing, and I do apologize for that misconception. It is not my intention, just my frustrating getting the best of me. My apologies.

So let me be the first to PUBLICLY apologize if this year's post came out wrong. Let me state a FACTS vs an OPINION.
FACT: $400 is more than we have traditionally spent on a track day. In fact, it is DOUBLE of some other events.
FACT: In the last few years (that we had a track day), there was never any mandatory schooling for experienced drivers.

If you care to argue those facts, I'm all ears.

Kyle. I agree. I am not disrespecting the rules themselves. We are not going to fight that and win, nor would I even attempt it.
What I would argue about is "why was this track chosen b/c of the rules". AND why would this track be chosen because it is on the very high side of a track day?
An example, Road Atlanta (arguably one of the top tracks in the nation) has events at $300-350 for the general public.

Furthermore, I doubt there will be many people ON THIS FORUM that will elect to pay $400 for a track day and be mandatory schooling regardless of driving level. Maybe I am incorrect?? (if I am I will humbly say so). I would love to find out with a show of hands...... Who is going to pay $400 for this event and be in the school??

and Kyle,.....who has a 2000 lb machine???? Mine is a fat cow at 2400.

you guys need to relax this is what it is this track was chosen because we are piggy backing off an event also because I didn't want to come out of pocket 10k to host my own event I understand everyone's opinions and points of views and I am not going to get into a debate with anyone about this each track has their own rules and regulations that's life basically if you are interested you pay and enjoy if not watch people enjoy that's all if the school sees that you are an experienced driver they will sign off and send you to another group its that simple I have no control of pricing this was the only way we could get all the events that everyone is interested in at convention so if this makes you unhappy for any reason I am truely sorry
